At Countryside Kennels, we continue to strive to produce top quality puppies and unsurpassed service  for our clients and their pets; with that said, let's give a warm welcome to Jeff Tyler. Jeff has joined us from North Carolina. Jeff has worked with other professional handlers and has several years of training with both upland and waterfowl and we're happy to have him with us! The Countryside Kennels family is responsible for animal care and training activities. In addition, we've completed many renovations that are listed below:

  • new training table and equipment storage area
  • 2 new birthing areas
  • new concrete work and septic system
  • 9  new above ground kennels
  • 6 new indoor and 6 new outdoor kennels
  • 15 acres of game bird habitat will be planted this spring along with over 1,200 trees and shrubs.

We are also increasing the size of one of our training ponds and are upgrading our game bird brooding area to accommodate 1,000 day old quail chicks.  

Countryside Kennels is also involved in numerous shows throughout the year. Listed below are scheduled events and upcoming appearances. Call for more details or simply stop by for a visit. We'd love to meet you!

January 17, 2008 MUCC Michigan Out-of-Doors will begin airing late season Ringneck hunting and muzzleloading Whitetails on Thursday, January 17, 2008. For viewing times in your area, refer to your local listings. Check out a couple of pictures from the filming.
Coming Soon! An article in Waterfowlers Digest - "Beat the Heat" - conditioning your dog during the summer months.
Coming Soon! Countryside Kennels will be featured in an upcoming issue of Michigan Sportsmen in an article by Tracy Breen featuring the top places to hunt upland game in Southern Michigan.
April/May 2008 Pick up a copy of the April/May 2008 issue of the Retriever Journal. On page 28, Tom Carpenter has written the article "When to Call a Pro", featuring Countryside Kennels!
May 10, 2008 Tune in to "The Game" Live Talk show 730AM radio (out of Lansing) at 8:15am. Duran Martinez from AM Outdoors will be chatting with James "Lucky" Miller of Countryside Kennels.

May 31, 2008 Family Pet Days at Tractor Supply in Bad Axe, Michigan. James "Lucky" Miller will be performing a retrieving and pointing dog demonstration. Stop by for a visit!

Fall 2008 James "Lucky" Miller and Countryside Kennels will be producing 2 new DVD's: Training the Family Companion Retriever and Training the Family Companion Pointing Dog.
April/May 2007 Check out the article 'The 10 Best Ways to Ruin Your New Puppy' by A.J. Schultz on pages 38-41 in the April/May issue of Retriever Journal. Countryside Kennels and James "Lucky" Miller are featured.
October 20, 2007 Opening day of pheasant season at Countryside Kennels! Jimmy Gretzinger from MUCC Michigan Out-of-Doors and the TV crew will be on site filming Pheasant Hunting in the Thumb.
