The Countryside Kennels family is proud to announce our newest full time employee. Shayna Polega! Shayna joined our group in the summer of 2007. During that time she was responsible for all aspects of animal care. In 2008, Shayna began working with the obedience aspectss of our program, and in 2009, Shayna began running dogs in hunt tests and handled several dogs in both upland and waterfowl work. Shayna will be joining us full time this summer and will be a huge asset to us with her years of experience here and her love and knowledge of how to handle/train dogs. Shayna has a yellow lab named Elii and a black lab named Bentley.
The Countryside Kennels family is responsible for animal care and training activities. In addition, we've completed many renovations that are listed below:
- new training table and equipment storage area
- 2 new birthing areas
- new concrete work and septic system
- 9 new above ground kennels
- 6 new indoor and 6 new outdoor kennels
- 15 acres of game bird habitat will be planted this spring along with over 1,200 trees and shrubs.
We are also increasing the size of one of our training ponds and are upgrading our game bird brooding area to accommodate 1,000 day old quail chicks.

The summer of 2009 has been a busy season for all of our dogs. On May 22, 2009, Doc received his Great Lakes Sport Dog Novice Pointing Lab Title. On July 11th, Cooper received his Intermediate Upland Title and Abby is now titled in both her Novice Pointing Lab and Novice Waterfowl . We also have several other dogs that have ribboned and are well on their way to being titled gun dogs as well!
